NP 246 Transfercase example ID Tag

On the rear of each New Process transfercase is a circular I.D. tag. The tag provides the transfer case model number, assembly number, serial number and low range ratio. The transfercase serial number also represents the date of build.

Provide your assembly number when ordering your transfercase along with the make, model and year of your vehicle. There are many variations of the same model number transfercases. The ID tag information is similar to the DNA code of your transfercase, it will tell us the information we need to get you the right tranfsercase for your vehicle.

The new MP (Magna Powertrain) transfercases have a paper identification tag located on the top of the transfercase.

Borg Warner transfercases have an ID tag where the case halves bolt together. The transfercase ID tag is a small rectangular metal tag. This tag will provide the transfercase model number along with other pertinent information. If possible, please provide the information off the transfercase ID tag.
